Over the course of the last year, Cogswell hosted 5 exchange students from the Communications University of China (CUC) in Beijing. While attending Cogswell they focused on engineering, animation and game development. At the end of the year they produced 2 short animations and a game. Their experiences here at Cogswell transcended classroom experiences as they squeezed in visits to various U.S. cities and local attractions.
Three of the students have been accepted into grad schools – one at UCLA and two at Sheridan College in Canada. They will be working on their Masters degrees in visual effects and animation. As Cogswell moves forward and expands its international exchange program with CUC, this first group of students has set a high standard for the students who will follow.
“I am very excited to have been able to work with a great group of talented young artists and engineers who have a bright future in these global industries. I know that they have made a great impact on the student body here at Cogswell as well as the staff. I wish them much success as they move forward in their careers.” ~ Brandace King, International Student Coordinator.
The students depart Cogswell this week. Before they left, they presented their year-long projects to the delight of faculty and students!
