Entrepreneurship workshop slated for November 20th!

Wednesday, November 10th, 2010

Calling all entrepreneurs of tomorrow!  Do you want to be your own boss?  Do you want to make your ideas come to life? Are you an innovator?  Cogswell Polytechnical College is holding its first Entrepreneurs Workshop on Saturday November 20th!  We’re looking for high school seniors who want to share their fresh ideas and and make them happen.  Scheduled to take place are team-oriented activities including market simulations, product design simulations,  and a digital scavenger hunt.  During the workshop there will be a panel of successful entrepreneurs ready to reveal their experiences in their own start-up companies, so bring in your questions for success!  Parents are welcome, and lunch will be provided, as well as an opportunity to win prizes with our raffle.

Trish Costello, Director of our Entrepreneurship Program, will also be on hand, facilitating the day’s events and as a resource for info regarding the Entrepreneurship and Innovation program.  The workshop launches an Entrepreneurship competition, where teams of up to four can win the grand prize of a full scholarship to Cogswell!  Admissions information will also be available, and representatives will be on hand to answer any questions you may have.

In addition to the great entrepreneurship opportunity, Cogswell will be hosting an industry talk with Patricia Kallusch, Development Director at Electronic Arts, and Sergio Sykes, a Technical Artist at Massive Black.  The two will speak on their experiences in the game and animation industries.  This is a great networking opportunity to begin ties, or expand on the ones you already have in the game and animation industries!  The event will be held in the Dragon’s Den, November 16 from 6:00pm – 8:00pm.  Dinner will be served during the event.  All Cogswell students are encouraged to attend, as many of the programs offered overlap, and the more connections you make, the better.
