Cogswell Polytechnical College hosted its annual Summer Term Residency classes for its Fire Science program from July 16 thru 20, 2010. More than 20 firefighters gathered to take part in this intensive learning opportunity as they work toward their BS degrees.
Courses offered included Fire Protection & Systems Design, Organizational Leadership and Accounting.
“The Resident Program gives students the chance to work with other students, network and meet faculty members face-to-face,” said Dr. Younes Mouchid, Director of the Fire Science Program. “With emphasis on group projects and classroom interaction, the courses taught on campus offer a nice change of pace from the more solitary, written-response format used in distance-learning courses.”
The next residency session will take place from October 8 to 12, 2010. For a schedule of classes please visit our website.
