Students, faculty and staff gathered in the Dragon’s Den on Tuesday, November 17, to kick off the holiday season. In its fifth annual Thanksgiving Potluck tables were lined with turkey, ham and an assortment of favorite recipes from the cooks in the crowd or ready-made food from those who lack either time or cooking skills.
In addition to the camaraderie, good conversation and full stomachs, the event is a chance to reflect on the trials and triumphs of the past year as we each look forward to the next. This annual feast has become a favorite of everyone on campus.
“This is absolutely one of my favorite events that Cogswell holds. I can’t think of any other college where the entire school can sit down for a meal together. It really makes it feel like a big family and it’s really special,” says staff member and alumni Rachael Reisdorf.
Another facet of the event is the opportunity to make a difference in the life of someone less fortunate. Each year Cogswell selects a local charity to support. This year we are working with The Family Giving Tree to provide “wish list” items for local children.
