2009 Summer Day Camp Schedule for Teens

Want to learn how to create the most awesome 3D computer model of a car, a robot, a futuristic building or an object found only in your imagination? Then consider enrolling in Cogswell’s Maya Boot Camp.

Want to improve your sketching and painting skills? Then Cogswell is the place to be this summer.

Want to put your personal stamp on the music you hear?  Then take our digital music production class in August.

Maya Boot Camp

Level 1: August 10th – 14th  

Level 2: August 17th – 21th 

Using Maya, one of the digital content industries’ most widely used software packages, campers will delve into the basic tool set and progress to designing their own projects.

***Students enrolled in Level 2 need to have previous experience using 3D software programs.

Model Sketching 

August 10th – 14th

Students learn basic drawing techniques using charcoal, pencil, pastel and pen and ink. Standard drawing issues will be addressed including: the gesture, proportion, line, volume, composition, color, abstraction and psychological content.

Painting Our World

August 17th – 21th

Painting from still-life, landscape and live model poses enhance students’ visual perception, spatial concepts and critical thinking skills. You will explore color theory, linear perspective, pictorial composition and figure/ground relationships.

Digital Music Production

August 10th – 14th   

Music production has never been easier. Powerful software – such as Reason from Propellerhead Software – allows aspiring musicians to create great sounding sequences. Experiment with incorporating custom instruments and special effects and then master the end product to disc.

All classes run Monday – Friday from 9:00am to 6:00pm and cost $480 per session. Lunch is included.
