Subatomic Studios Co-Founder, Sergei Gourski (2003), and fellow Cogswell Alumnus, Ash Monif (2002), are pleased to announce that as Apple approaches 1 billion downloads, their game, Fieldrunners, has been listed as one of the all-time top paid apps. The game was developed exclusively for the iPhone and iPod Touch platform.
Since its release in October 2008 Fieldrunners has been hailed for its amazing graphics, the flexibility and ease of its gameplay, its seamless interaction with the mobile devices other functions – like phone calls – and the smoothness of its animation. Fieldrunners is a Tower Defense game that offers gamers a diverse selection of upgradeable towers using a wide array of tactics and strategies against waves of unique land and air combatants.
TIME Magazine ranked Fieldrunners in its Top 10 Video Games for 2008 (not just mobile devices, but all video games). The game also won the Achievement in Art and Best Mobile Game at the recent 2009 IGF Mobile Festival.
Other reviews include: Macenstein’s Top 20 iPhone games of 2008 places Fieldrunners at number 1; Fieldrunners received an 8 out of 10 score from IGN; 4.5 out of 5 stars from Macworld; 9.5 out of 10 points from OXCGN.com; 5 out of 5 stars from What’s On iPhone; 8.75 out of 10 from Loot Ninja; 8.2 out of 10 from Art of the iPhone; 4 out of 5 stars from MODOJO and Curt Schilling of the Boston Red Sox loves Fieldrunners.
